Residents in the vicinity of Briarcliff Road and Clairmont Road can finally take a sigh of relief as DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management crews have finished the repair work on a crucial broken water main. The break, involving a 12-inch diameter pipe, had led to disrupted water service affecting countless households and businesses. As noted in a statement from the county, as water service resumes, users might notice a discoloration in the tap water.
Officials advise residents in the affected areas to thoroughly run their faucets, both indoors and outdoors, to clear out their plumbing systems. This expected brown water is a normal consequence after such interruptions and repairs. However, they warn that residents might also experience lower than usual or even a complete lack of water pressure. To address these concerns, DeKalb County has provided a contact channel at [email protected] or by calling 770-270-6243.
