The Georgia Bureau of Investigation made strides in leadership this week as they named Catherine Jordan as the new manager for their Central Regional Crime Lab, an advancement reflecting her diligent ascent through the ranks. According to a recent report by FOX 5 Atlanta, Jordan, originally from Ellaville, has nurtured a distinguished career path that began back in 2005 at the GBI Headquarters.
Prior to her latest title, having been just months ago when she was promoted to assistant manager at the year's start, Jordan has continually added to her expertise and leadership skills. As Griffin Daily News outlines, in her new managerial role, Jordan will oversee the supervision of staff and others, keeping the lab's string of successes unabated.
"Catherine is a well-respected leader in the crime lab," stated Cleveland Miles, GBI's Investigative Division Director, as obtained by FOX 5 Atlanta. "It is fitting to now promote her to the position of Lab Manager where she can further accomplish the GBI mission and lead a team that provides the highest quality scientific services to the state of Georgia."
Jordan's academic foundation was laid with two bachelor's degrees—one in chemical engineering from Georgia Tech, and the other in chemistry from Georgia Southwestern State University. Completing her training in Firearms and Toolmarks by 2007, she joined the Western Regional Crime Lab where she's worked her way up, blazing a trail of scientific rigor and precision. Described as an exemplar of professional excellence, "Catherine has proven to be a leader in the crime lab, and will continue to serve as a great example as the Central Regional Crime Lab Manager," GBI Director Chris Hosey told FOX 5 Atlanta. The GBI emphasizes their fortunate stance in having Jordan’s unparalleled skills guiding the helm of the Central Regional Crime Lab.
