Early Tuesday morning, a gun shop in Chapel Hill, Tennessee faced a brazen break-in after a stolen vehicle smashed into the storefront. The Chapel Hill Police Department reported that officers responded posthaste, initiating a pursuit into Davidson County. According to WSMV, the chase followed after the suspects crashed into Echo 3 Armory, which subsequently led to the suspects fleeing the scene.
Following the incident, the Chapel Hill Police Department, along with the Metro Nashville Police Department, began processing the crime scene. Echo 3 Armory stated via social media that, thankfully, no firearms were taken thanks to their security measures.“At this time we are going to close for the day until we can evaluate the damage. A big thanks to the fast response of Chapel Hill Police dept,” Echo 3 Armory shared, a statement acquired by WSMV.
The incident began around 3 a.m. when the suspects allegedly used a stolen vehicle to back into the front window of Echo 3 Armory, located on North Horton Parkway. Chapel Hill Town Administrator Danny Bingham told News 2 that while no firearms were secured during the intrusion, some inventory items were missing. The stolen vehicle was later found abandoned in Nolensville near the Williamson County line, Bingham added.
Detectives are now in collaboration with the Metro Nashville Police Department to further investigate the circumstances of the burglary. The suspects' vehicle being discovered in Nolensville points to the multi-county nature of the case. At the moment, details about any arrests remain undisclosed. According to the gun shop's website, Echo 3 Armory prides itself as a “full-service gun shop owned and operated by an experienced gunsmith,” which was mentioned by News 2.
Further updates on this ongoing investigation are anticipated as local law enforcement works to apprehend those involved in the early morning burglary at Echo 3 Armory. Additional information regarding this case has yet to be released, but the rapid response by Chapel Hill Police has certainly made an impact on the situation. As of now, reports from Fox 17 affirm that the armory will remain closed for the day to assess and repair the damage inflicted by the break-in.
