
Chicago has witnessed yet another episode of gun violence manifesting in the form of armed robbery and vehicular hijacking. According to the Chicago Police Department, Davien Binion, 23, of the 200 block of N. Pine Ave., has been charged with a felony count each for armed robbery and aggravated vehicular hijacking involving a firearm. Binion was apprehended on July 15 and is now facing the legal consequences of his alleged actions.
The detention hearing for Binion is scheduled for July 16, 2024, at the courthouse located at 2600 S. California. The charges follow an incident that occurred on July 2, in the 5300 block of W. Van Buren in Chicago's 15th District. The victim, a 35-year-old male, was reportedly accosted at gunpoint, leading to the theft of his vehicle and personal belongings. Binion was later identified and arrested in connection with the case.
In addition to the felony charges, Binion has also received a citation for Annual Gun Offender Registration, as per the CPD. "No additional information is available at this time".
