In the early hours of July 25, a string of juvenile offenders were apprehended by Chicago law enforcement, charged with aggravated robbery in the Pilsen neighborhood, as detailed in a report provided by the Chicago Police Department. Four male juveniles, ages 12, and 13, and two 15-year-olds, are now facing felony counts after allegedly indicating possession of a firearm in the course of a robbery.
The incident, occurring minutes before their capture, involved the theft of personal property from a 48-year-old male victim, the altercation reportedly happened in the 1200 block of S. Halsted Street, which falls under the purview of the city's 12th District. Responding officers quickly pinpointed the suspects' location in the 1700 block of S. Halsted, it was in this location that the juveniles were found and apprehended which led to the subsequent charges that have since been brought against each individual.
Authorities have revealed that one of the young suspects, the 13-year-old, also received a citation concerning the possession of a replica or pellet firearm during the criminal act. These charges placed upon the youth are severe and imply the seriousness with which the justice system views such actions, despite the alleged offenders' young ages.
All offenders, having been caught in the proximity of the crime scene were taken into custody and were charged according to the law, with the legal process to follow in due course.
