Chicago Police are calling for the public's assistance after an armed robbery occurred on the Red Line near 35th Street, an incident that has raised security concerns among commuters. The Chicago Police Department's report details how the robbery, which involved a handgun, took place on June 25, describing the suspects as two Black males, estimated to be 18 years old.
The victim, who was accosted while on the train, suffered the robbery after the offenders followed them from the train to the sidewalk, where they brandished a firearm to seize the victim's personal property, as reported by the Chicago Police Department.
The crime has sparked an alert from the Public Transportation Section, calling on those who might have seen anything or anyone with information to come forward, with the hopes that community involvement can lead to a swift response, while detectives are scouring surveillance footage and seeking witnesses to piece together the events that led to the armed robbery.
