
On the streets of Chicago, a teenager faces serious charges following a vehicular hijacking incident. The Chicago Police Department has confirmed that 19-year-old Walter Jones from the 7400 block of S. Maryland Ave has been charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking using a firearm. The incident, which rattled the local community, occurred earlier this month.
According to the information released by the police department, the arrest was made by the Vehicular Hijacking Task Force yesterday, July 30. Jones was apprehended in the 2700 block of S. California, having been identified as one of the individuals involved in taking a vehicle at gunpoint from a 48-year-old man on July 14, in the 7100 block of S. State St.
The case has been scheduled for a detention hearing at the courthouse located at 2600 S. California today, July 31.
