A 49-year-old Hispanic man was tragically killed after being stabbed in his Chula Vista apartment. The Chula Vista Police Department has issued a plea for public assistance in hunting down the assailant linked to the fatal event that unfolded last Friday evening.
The incident occurred at the Terra Vista apartments, located at 1441 Santa Lucia Road in the Otay Ranch area. According to the official report from the Chula Vista Police, authorities arrived on the scene shortly after 8 p.m. to discover the victim, who remains unnamed, succumbing to multiple stab wounds. First responders worked to save him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witness accounts, as per the same report, point to a suspect who allegedly forced entry into the victim's residence wearing a mask before committing the assault. The assailant, described inconsistently by witnesses, is thought to have been clad in a dark hoodie and dark shorts. There’s a possibility supported by witness statements suggesting that the assailant made their escape on a motorized scooter, notable for its blue wheels.
