According to the Chicago Police Department's press release, Colmenarez faces severe felony charges, including first-degree attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon without a Firearms Owner's Identification (FOID).
The arrest occurred on July 8, 2024, when Colmenarez was located in the 600 block of S. Newport in Pontiac, subsequent to the shooting in the 400 block of N. Lawndale.
