The somber search for Kelley Guest that gripped San Francisco came to a heartbreaking conclusion as the 76-year-old, who had been reported missing earlier this week, was found dead in Marin County. The Marin County Sheriff's Search and Rescue team made the discovery yesterday, bringing a tragic end to the extensive search efforts.
Efforts to locate Guest had intensified after he was reported last seen on the 1000 block of Chesnut Street around 2:00 p.m.—since then, he had not made contact with family or friends, sparking concern for his welfare. Described as a white male around 5’9" in height and weighing approximately 170 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes, his absence marked a haunting silence in a city where his presence had been a constant.
In a statement released by the San Francisco Police Department, conveyed through their official News Release, officials extended their "thoughts and prayers" to Guest's family and community at this difficult time. The release also expressed gratitude toward the Marin County Sheriff’s Department and the volunteers who dedicated their time and resources to search for Guest.
While the investigation into the circumstances of Guest’s death remains open and active, the San Francisco Police Department is urging anyone with information that could shed light on this case to come forward. Concerned individuals may contact the SFPD at 1-415-575-4444 or send a tip to TIP411 by beginning the message with 'SFPD.' The option for individuals wishing to remain anonymous when providing potentially crucial information was emphasized.
