
A horrific domestic violence incident has shocked the community of Dickson, Tennessee, where a man has been charged with multiple serious offenses after allegedly stabbing his wife and setting their home ablaze. According to FOX17, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reported that firefighters found the woman inside the residence on North Charlotte Street suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Monday's violent episode escalated to a degree in which 28-year-old Zachary Mowel has been arrested following his alleged attack where he is accused of soaking his wife in gasoline and then igniting the home. Information was revealed in a joint investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and local police, as reported by NewsChannel 5. His wife was transported to a Nashville hospital, where she remains receiving medical treatment. The extent of her injuries is currently unknown, and the community is left grappling with the brutality of the events.
Mowel faces allegations of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated arson, aggravated assault (domestic-related), and domestic assault. Officials have set his bond at $765,000, and he remains in custody at Dickson County Jail. The incident unfolded rapidly as first responders encountered heavy smoke and the severely injured woman by the back door of the involved property, with the knife still lodged in her body, according to accounts detailed by WKRN, and in a chilling admission at the scene, Mowel reportedly approached an officer admitting, "I did it. It was me."
