Early Tuesday morning, a fire engulfed a church in the New Pathways area, near E.H. Crump Boulevard and Camilla Street. The blaze was so intense that it could be seen from a considerable distance, as reported by Action News 5.
Residents and commuters faced disruptions, with Memphis Police being called to handle traffic control in the affected region. As the flames tore through the church's roof, the thick smoke that accompanied them marked a grim silhouette against the predawn sky, as per FOX13 Memphis.
The Memphis Fire Department confirmed that no one got injured and "the cause has been ruled accidental/electrical malfunction in an AC unit," as indicated by WREG News Channel 3.
