
Early Sunday morning, a fire broke out on Chicago's Far South Side, resulting in the displacement of ten residents and minor injuries to one individual. The blaze started just after 4:30 a.m. in the 5100 block of South Loomis Street, located in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood, according to information obtained by WGN-TV.
First responders arrived swiftly after the fire was reported, with firefighters battling to control the flames that had engulfed part of the residential area. A 50-year-old woman sustained minor injuries during the incident, the Chicago Police confirmed, however, she was treated at the scene and subsequently released. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that, aside from the woman's injuries, no other residents were harmed. Yet, the aftermath left a total of 10 people without a home.
The cause of the fire is still a subject of investigation, as authorities have not yet determined what sparked the blaze. Police officials have noted that the investigation is active and ongoing, as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times.
