An elderly man sustained life-threatening injuries after losing control of his bicycle in Mira Mesa, according to the San Diego Police Department. The incident, cataloged under number 33142, occurred yesterday at 8:28 a.m. along the 10700 block of Camino Santa Fe.
The 74-year-old male cyclist was reportedly traveling northbound when he suddenly struck the curb, and both he and his bicycle fell. Following the fall, the man was rushed to a local hospital, where he is currently being treated for a brain bleed, a fractured clavicle, and several fractured ribs.
