A fatal accident occurred yesterday evening in Brentwood when a white Toyota Tundra crashed on Camino Diablo just east of Vasco Road. The solo-vehicle collision, which tragically resulted in the death of the male driver, transpired around 7:35pm with the truck losing control while navigating a curve and overturning off the roadway, the California Highway Patrol Contra Costa informed via social media.
It was revealed that the driver, who was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash, was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, which contributed to the fatal outcome. CHP stated that the vehicle was traveling at an unsafe speed before the driver lost control, though it remains unclear if driving under the influence was a factor in the incident. Emergency services, arriving alongside CHP, declared the driver dead at the scene.
