
The Fentress County Sheriff's Office is currently on the hunt for an inmate, James Kelley Estes, who escaped while engaged in a work detail. Last seen on Thursday around 8:30 p.m., Estes is believed to have left the vicinity on foot, as detailed by WVLT.
As reported by WVLT, details about what Estes was last wearing have been shared, specifying an orange ball cap, peach-colored shirt, white shorts, and tennis shoes. Matching this description, the Fentress County Sheriff's Office is also cautioning the public to avoid approaching Estes directly, emphasizing that he should not engage with them.
Estes may not be traveling alone, as authorities suggested that he could be accompanied by a woman. According to WATE, there is speculation that he was picked up by a vehicle after the escape. Estes is described as having short blond or reddish hair, stands at around 5 feet 11 inches tall, and weighs around 210 pounds.
Efforts to recapture Estes are intensifying, with the public being urged to report any information they may have regarding his whereabouts. Those with information are being asked to "call the Fentress County Jail at 931-879-8142 or dispatch at 931-752-0911," as per the notice issued by the Fentress County Sheriff's Office and shared by WBIR.
