A former Clarksville high school nurse, already serving a hefty 24-year federal prison sentence for child pornography charges, is now confronting an additional 99 state charges related to child exploitation. Leon Burnett Hensley, 43, a past employee of Northeast High School, was extradited from federal custody to Montgomery County to face these charges, as reported by WKRN.
Each count signifies a grim instance in Hensley’s lengthy list of alleged crimes. Those charges comprise 37 counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, alongside multiple counts of sexual exploitation of minors with varying amounts of illicit images, as well as unlawful and aggravated photographing, as per WKRN. An indictment back in June 2022 thrust Hensley into legal scrutiny, culminating in a guilty plea in September of the same year.
This ordeal traces back to initial reports in May 2021 when Hensley was accused of disseminating inappropriate images via text messages. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he went as far as sending a nude photograph of an adult woman to a minor and suggesting she take similar photos, as indicated by WSMV.
Providing scale to the depth of Hensley's offenses, an array of seized devices contained disturbing imagery of minors, identified as students from Northeast High School. Furthermore, authorities uncovered videos and pictures taken without consent in various areas such as hospital rooms, airports, and tanning beds. A search of his home yielded electronic devices, including a small covert camera, according to Clarksville Now.
