The incidents, occurring between July 19 and July 25, included multiple shoplifting cases, vehicle-related crimes, a graffiti instance, and violations of personal information security, as well as disturbances resulting from domestic disputes, as detailed on their official news page.
July 19 witnessed a considerable variety of offenses, starting with shoplifting on Poplar Avenue and ending with a physical altercation on Kilbirnie. The following day, another shoplifting arrest took place on Farmington Boulevard, and by Sunday there were reports of vehicular burglary and damage, though notably, nothing was taken in one incident. On July 22, Germantown became the canvas for a person or persons unknown who employed spray paint indiscriminately on city property, whereas others were claimed victims of identity theft, a situation that in one case led to the unauthorized opening of a bank account and another to an attempt to secure loans deceptively, according to the City of Germantown.
The report then transitioned to July 23, continuing the theme of vehicular infractions, where a car was unlawfully taken following an unauthorized entry; this was also the day where a drug and firearm possession came to a head with a subsequent arrest. July 24 served as a brief hiatus with no crimes reported. On Thursday, July 25, included a report of stolen jewelry, the detail of which stood out amidst the catalog of more violent altercations and thefts; in addition to the altercation reported within a residence. Throughout this week, a striking total of 23 crashes were documented by the Germantown Police, the precise details of which were not disclosed in the Germantown release.
