The Gilbert Police Department has launched a new Communications Center after completing a two-phase expansion project, ushering in a new era of enhanced public safety services for the Gilbert community, as highlighted on the town's official website.

Starting in January 2023, the expansion project not only doubled the Center's footprint but also integrated Next Generation 9-1-1 technology alongside upgraded radio dispatch consoles, and a slew of advanced AV management systems; these improvements aim to bolster situational awareness, and equip the town to stay ahead of the curve by enabling multimedia communication between the public and the 9-1-1 network, the specifics of which were detailed in yesterday's announcement.

With a focus on the well-being of its employees, the second phase of the expansion added a fitness room, a room for parents in support of the "baby at work" program, a quiet room meant for decompression, alongside new training and meeting facilities, this further underscores the department's vested interest in the health and retention of its staff who manage over 227,000 calls each year, as "Our dispatchers are committed to serving all of our residents, visitors, and Gilbert PD around the clock," Gilbert Police Communications Manager Kim Weber asserted in a statement which attests to the benefits of the newly launched dispatch center.

The state-of-the-art Communications Center is now fully operational, ready not just for current demands but prepped for future growth needs, as Gilbert approaches buildout. For more information or assistance, contact Gilbert PD at 480-503-6500 or dial 9-1-1 for emergencies.
