The discovery of a decomposing body has sparked an investigation in Greeneville after local authorities were alerted to the disturbing find in a culvert Saturday morning. WBIR reports that the Greeneville Police Department responded to the scene in the 1700 block of Moore Avenue around 11:20 a.m., following a call concerning a possible deceased individual.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement officers encountered the body, which was noted to be in a significantly decayed state. The belief is that the remains had been at the location for approximately a week.
