The "Grove Fire" continues to affect the regions east of Palomar Mountain, with the blaze now engulfing 816 acres and evacuation orders firmly in place. According to FOX 5 San Diego, Cal Fire San Diego announced that containment had reached 10% this morning. However, the rapid spread of the fire has prompted immediate action for residents in the affected areas.
San Diego County Sheriff's Department has been leading the evacuation process, with the only road closure reported at SR-79 at Chihuahua Valley Road, as stated on their social platform. Evacuees are directed to several temporary relief points which include Warner Springs Community Resource Center and Warner Springs Jr./Sr. High School. Larger animals, a vulnerable group often slower to evacuate, have been offered refuge at Ramona High School, demonstrating the efforts to extend aid beyond human residents.
Officials have delineated specific zones for evacuation orders and warnings. A statement reported by the San Diego Sheriff urged residents in the red-shaded areas to evacuate immediately and those in the yellow-shaded areas to be prepared to evacuate at a moment's notice. An updated map was provided to assist residents in identifying if their location falls under the evacuation order or warning areas.

Health concerns due to smoke inhalation are rampant, and a Smoke Advisory remains in effect for areas south of Oak Grove, including Holcomb Village and Ranchita. The San Diego County Air Pollution Control District advises nearby residents affected by smoke blowing southeast to remain indoors and limit physical activity. This advisory, while critical, has been heeded by a sparse population, with many already displaced by the encroaching inferno.
