A disturbing incident unfolded over the weekend at a Hollywood Walmart, where a mother has been accused of leaving her young child unattended in a vehicle while she engaged in a shopping spree. As reported by Local 10, Anastasia Moloto, 34, was observed via surveillance footage inside the Walmart at 301 S. State Rd 7 shortly after 3 p.m. on Sunday, absent from her child who was in a car that was switched off, the window slightly ajar.
Authorities including Hollywood police officers and fire rescue teams were onsite swiftly and facilitated the child’s removal from the hot car, and Moloto was subsequently detained, facing a charge of child neglect the details surrounding the child’s condition remain unreleased but such a blatant act of negligence cast a grim shadow on what one assumes was an ordinary day of bargain hunts and errands and Moloto's name did not appear as an inmate on the Broward Sheriff’s Office jail website as of this afternoon.
Simultaneously, NBC Miami confirmed that the mother, identified as Anastasiya Motalava, had appeared in court on Monday and has been released on bond, she spent over 30 minutes in the store while the child remained in the stifling heat of a locked vehicle well-documented in the store’s surveillance footage.
At present, further detail about the child's welfare following the incident is not made public.
