A northwest Houston community is on edge after the recent fatal stabbing of Dana Magnuson a 62-year-old woman. The Harris County Sheriff's Office has released the victim's identity following law enforcement's discovery of her body with multiple stab wounds in her own backyard on Saturday evening.

As reported by Hoodline, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, located at 20800 Sunshine Meadow, where the call to authorities was placed around 7:00 p.m. Deputies arrived to the grim finding, and the identification was provided by a man who was at the residence and is reportedly the son of Magnuson.

While the suspect remains at large, community members have been advised to stay vigilant. "Our team has been working tirelessly on the follow-up investigation and will continue to do so until her killer is identified and brought to justice," said Sheriff Ed Gonzalez in a statement obtained by Sheriff Ed Gonzalez's X account. Magnuson is remembered as an active member of the community and was "beloved by everyone who knew her."
