In a significant day of police work, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) made arrests in three separate murder cases. All three arrests occurred on Tuesday, addressing homicides that took place over the previous three months. The sequence of arrests signifies a noteworthy coordination of investigative efforts by law enforcement.
First among those taken into custody was 28-year-old Keoni Lands, who is suspected in the May 26 fatal shooting of 38-year-old Quincey Ross, according to FOX59. Ross died following an encounter where he suffered gunshot wounds in the parking lot of a liquor store on the city's near northwest side. IMPD shared that they used "a culmination of investigative techniques," including conversations with witnesses and review of video surveillance, to identify Lands as the alleged perpetrator, as mentioned in WRTV.
On that same Tuesday, authorities apprehended 27-year-old Reggie Horton in connection with the July 8 shooting of Dartanian Cole, 38. The dispute, which turned deadly, unfolded at an apartment complex pool on the northeast side, where Horton allegedly shot Cole following an argument. Despite an initial lack of success in locating the firearm or Horton's clothing at the time of the incident, detectives eventually connected Horton to the murder. He was already in custody in Hamilton County on unrelated charges when arrested for Cole's murder.
The third suspect, a 22-year-old accused of homicide, is connected to the July 9 shooting death of Tyreana Terrell. Terrell suffered a gunshot wound to her upper back at a Marathon gas station which led to her subsequent death at a local hospital. Kobe Bond was later arrested, and charged with murder in relation to Terrell's death, as law enforcement worked through the case details and identified Bond as the prime suspect, detailed by WISH-TV.
These arrests marked a day of resolutions for the IMPD as they clear cases and bring suspects to answer for the violent deaths that shook the Indianapolis community.
