Following a distressing incident at the Dubois County 4-H Fair on Monday night, an inquiry is underway after a girl was hurled from an amusement ride. As reported by 1011 NOW, the girl was riding the "Rock and Roll" attraction when the accident occurred. Eyewitness and fellow rider, Anna Deorto, revealed that she had offered the girl a seat alongside her and her siblings, to keep the young rider from sitting alone.

Indiana Homeland Security has responded by suspending all rides at the fairgrounds, according to statements obtained by CBS4 Indy. David Hosick from the department specified that the safety equipment on the ride in question was not properly secured. Under state law, all amusement rides are mandated to undergo at least one inspection annually, however, Hosick noted that, “the ride had violations.”

The aftermath of the event has led to a halt on the ride's operations. The fair's organizers are keen to point out that there are additional activities that fair-goers can still participate in. Despite the halt on some attractions, the essence of community engagement at the fair endures.

The "Rock and Roll" ride will remain out of commission until it meets the necessary repair requirements, as laid out by the state regulations and passes a subsequent Homeland Security inspection. The ride's owner has been given a 30-day deadline to comply with the directives. This development was corroborated by WWNYTV, who also covered the incident.
