Yesterday morning, a shooting at a Knoxville apartment complex left a 20-year-old woman wounded, prompting a police investigation into the incident. As reported by WVLT, the Knoxville Police Department (KPD) responded to the 4700 block of Romeo Way just before 4 a.m., where they found the victim having suffered a gunshot wound to the lower body. She was quickly transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Having fled the scene prior to the arrival of the authorities, the suspected shooter was described by KPD as "a thin Black male who was wearing dark clothing and left the scene in an unidentified dark-colored car," based on evidence gathered during the preliminary investigation. This description was echoed by both WBIR and WATE, which reported similar details concerning the suspect's profile.
The KPD has disclosed very little additional information, maintaining that the motive behind the attack remains enigmatic and the investigation is still in its beginning phases.
