Scheduled for Tuesday, August 20 at 6:30 p.m., this beneficial gathering will take place at the Lewisville Grand Theater located at 100 N. Charles Street provides a valuable opportunity for community members to enhance their living spaces. In a presentation rich with the wisdom of three decades in arboriculture, David Brantley, a seasoned arborist, will share his insights on urban forestry and its implications for residential vitality, according to the City of Lewisville, Texas.
Brantley, who is not a stranger to the publishing world, brings both his passion for educating and his deep-rooted commitment to community empowerment to the fore as he discusses strategies for cultivating prosperous urban forests. The attendees of the workshop will also receive guidance on navigating the grant application process and discover more about other resources accessible throughout the county. These grant programs play a pivotal role in the “Diverse and Thriving Neighborhoods” Big Move outlined in the Lewisville 2025 vision plan.
Workshop participants will be acquainted with three key grant programs supported by the City of Lewisville. The Property Enhancement Program offers homeowners financial assistance with exterior home repairs in the form of a 50 percent matching grant rebate. Aspiring to strengthen community bonds, the Love Your Block initiative provides a $500 reimbursable mini-grant for neighborhood projects such as gatherings, beautification, and emergency readiness. Furthermore, the Neighborhood Enhancement Program provides a matching grant of up to $12,500 for neighborhood groups undertaking beautification projects.
As part of its commitment to fostering a robust and inclusive community, the city has arranged additional workshop dates, including sessions at Thrive on September 10, Queen Margaret Community Center on October 15, the Lewisville Public Library on November 19, and a return to the Lewisville Grand Theater to conclude the year's activities on December 17.
