
A 23-year-old man has died after being pulled from Lake Michigan on Sunday night, with emergency services responding to a distress call in Rogers Park. The incident occurred just before midnight, near the 1200 block of West Touhy Avenue, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
Witnesses at the scene told police the man was last observed struggling in the water, and despite the swift response of both Chicago police and fire officials, the swimmer did not survive. After a search by rescuers, he was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where, unfortunately, the man was pronounced dead, ABC7 Chicago disclosed.
The identity of the victim has not been released as investigations by area detectives continue.
