Tragedy struck again in Chicago's streets Tuesday morning when a 31-year-old man was shot and killed while seated in his car in the city's West Garfield Park neighborhood. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the incident occurred near the 200 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue at about 9:30 a.m., when four assailants reportedly left a sedan and unleashed a barrage of gunfire.
The unnamed victim was struck by multiple bullets before being transported to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where, he was pronounced dead, as per the Chicago Sun-Times. Details on the event remain sparse, and the gunmen, described only as having returned to their car and fleeing south, remain unidentified and at large. As of now, no arrests have been made.
As reported by the Chicago Tribune, the shooters were male and the vehicle in question is thought to be a Nissan sedan. The Tribune also confirmed that the fatal shooting is under active investigation by Chicago police detectives.
