The Memphis Police Department is currently seeking two men after a string of armed robberies at a local restaurant. According to Action News 5, the suspects allegedly robbed patrons outside the Tokyo Grill at 2801 Kirby Road late Sunday night. Police arrived at the scene at approximately 11:30 p.m., following reports of the incident.
Witnesses described one of the perpetrators as having a bruised or swollen face, donning a black hoodie, gray sweatpants, and black shoes, and having a noticeable limp. His accomplice wore a black hoodie, gray sweatpants, a white top, and black slides. Although the investigation is in progress, police have not made any arrests concerning the crime.
A similar account of events was detailed by WREG, reporting that a father and daughter were accosted by two armed individuals while closing the same restaurant on the same night. The father was coerced into handing over his wallet, which contained around $200, and his truck keys. "The suspects then fled the scene in what appeared to be a maroon Jeep Cherokee with a missing grill", as stated by the victims.
Security footage from the parking lot before the incident has been released by the MPD, with one suspect seen wearing a long-sleeved white pullover, gray jeans, black sandals with white socks, and was reported to be carrying a black and silver handgun. The other was dressed in a black sweater, black shirt, gray sweatpants, and black shoes, arming himself with two black and silver handguns.
The department has taken to social media to request assistance from the public. A post by the Memphis Police Department urges anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers. Callers can provide tips anonymously and might be eligible for a cash reward should their information lead to an arrest. The MPD emphasizes that despite the disturbing nature of these events, they are aggressively pursuing leads to apprehend the perpetrators.
