
A tragic incident occurred at a Church's Chicken in Memphis where an employee was shot and killed after a dispute with a customer. Law enforcement responded to the scene at approximately 9 p.m. at the Church’s Chicken located at 2963 Park Avenue, as reported by FOX13 Memphis. The female employee, during her shift, entered into an altercation with a customer, who was described as having purple hair and driving a teal-colored SUV.
After the initial exchange that took place at the drive-thru window, the customer drove off the premises. The victim then stepped outside presumably to get some air when moments later, she was shot, as noted by WREG. The same teal-colored SUV was seen speeding away from the parking lot in surveillance footage around the time the gunshots were fired. The woman was promptly transported to Regional One Hospital, however, she succumbed to her injuries.
The Memphis Police Department has yet to make any arrests in connection to the homicide and are urging anyone with information to come forward. "A few moments later there were gunshots, they saw the teal SUV speeding from the parking lot in a video," MPD stated, as documented by Action News 5. The ongoing investigation is presently seeking leads, and Crime Stoppers has been accumulating tips at 528-CASH, hoping to aid in the apprehension of the suspect.
The department has not yet released additional details regarding the motive or the subsequent investigation.
