In the City of Mesquite, the Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association (MCPAAA) is garnering attention once again. At the most recent Texas Citizen Police Academy Association Convention, which took place in League City, Texas, the MCPAAA earned top honors for its membership endeavors. According to the Mesquite Police Department, the award was presented at the TCPAAA awards banquet last Wednesday.
The accolade isn't just about the numbers, though those are impressive—the MCPAAA boasts 110 members who contribute over 10,000 hours of volunteer work every year in roles like safety patrol and event staffing. Debbie Anderson, the president of MCPAAA, along with the other attendees, was recognized for the group’s unwavering dedication to supporting law enforcement and contributing to public safety initiatives.
Supporting the Mesquite Police Department in tangible ways has always been at the core of the Association's mission. This commendable group of citizens aids the department by participating in safety patrols, running the annual Santa Cop event, taking on clerical duties like answering phones, and being a dependable presence at community gatherings.
Local law enforcement expressed gratitude for these contributions. "We sincerely appreciate the Association’s ongoing support of the Department’s mission", cited the Mesquite Police Department.
