Miami residents, brace yourselves for continued sweltering conditions. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Miami-Dade and Browald counties through 6 p.m. and until 7 p.m. for the Florida Keys. Thermometers are poised to register high into the low 90s, but the "feel like" conditions are expected to soar even higher, ranging from 107-111 degrees throughout the day.
Despite a lesser chance of rain than on Saturday, the stifling heat and humidity are predicted to intensify the heat index values for an extended period. Wind conditions are similarly robust, with the sea breeze blowing at 10-15 mph and gusting up to 20 mph. Although the morning witnessed a few showers and storms, the possibility of widespread rainfall seems slim due to a patch of dry air in the upper atmosphere. However, rain chances are to gradually increase come Monday as tropical moisture makes its return.
Looking ahead, the onset of the week might see localized heavy rains which, according to the NBC Miami's weather forecast, could potentially cause flooding in areas prone to the condition. This wet phase is soon expected to be followed by another wave of Saharan dust, which is likely to naturally curb storm formation midweek.
The approach of the week also spells a 50 percent chance of showers and the possibility of a thunderstorm n Monday, with the weather mostly staying sunny and heat index values reaching past the 101 degrees mark. As we progress through the week, the chances of showers and thunderstorms variably hover between 30 and 40 percent. While accuweather gives us details on the likelihood of nighttime showers on multiple days, it also forecasts mostly sunny weathers with high temperatures remaining consistent near the 92-degree mark.
