As summer fades and the back-to-school season looms, Milton is sending off vacation vibes in style with its Back to School Splash 'N Bash. According to a recent announcement from the city's website, families are invited to soak up the fun at Milton City Park and Preserve, located at 137-acre city property off 1785 Dinsmore Road, on July 31, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event, which also happens to mark the end of Park and Recreation Month, is shaping up to be a wet and wild escapade with waterslide inflatables, free popcorn and a preview of upcoming recreation opportunities in Milton. And while the kids are slipping and sliding, parents can snag sweet treats for sale at Kool Treats Sweet Bar, or for those aiming to sign their little ones up for new adventures, Cub Scout Pack 3000 will be present to provide information and registration opportunities.
Let's not forget the toddlers and preschoolers; this event has them covered too. "Those first two hours (so from 10 a.m. to noon) will also feature special toys, crafts, and games especially appropriate for toddlers and preschoolers," as mentioned in the city's announcement. This inclusive approach ensures that the youngest crowd doesn't miss out on the festive fun.
As the clock strikes noon, the City Pool promises to become the heart of the party, beating with the energetic sounds provided by the Bach to Rock music school. Keeping it cool in the pool will be effortless, especially if July's scorching temperatures decide to stick around. And the best part? The pool is open to all, free of charge, no strings—or rather, no daily or season passes—attached.
Milton's Parks and Recreation Department has plenty of reasons to be excited about hosting such a splashy send-off to summer. They're throwing the doors—gates, actually—wide open for people to not only enjoy this high-energy event but also to discover one of the city's most treasured parks.
