According to a public notice published by the Metro Public Health Department, there's been a slew of new applications filed for construction and operation permits that could potentially modify our local air pollution landscape.
These requests are tossed into the bureaucratic ring, subject to the scrutiny of the Metropolitan Code of Laws – we're talking about the ones outlined in Chapter 10.56, affectionately dubbed "Air Pollution Control". They’re open to public opinion, you have a say here, and if anyone's got some bones to pick with these potential polluters, you’ve got until August 18, to voice your concerns. The details are all laid out in Section 10.56.020 for construction permits and Section 10.56.040 for operating permits, as well as Section 3-2 of Regulation 3, which tackles "New Source Review", according to the Nashville government website.
Interested parties and concerned citizens can roll up their sleeves and dig into the application packages nestled for public scrutiny at the Vital Records Division of the Metro Public Health Department on Charlotte Avenue. Or, if you'd rather make your voice heard from the comfort of your digital device, electronic comments are being corralled at the following email: [email protected]. So whether you want to sift through the details in person or send your thoughts through the ethers of the internet, the stage is set for input.
