Following a series of tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a months-long investigation by Special Victims Division detectives has culminated in the arrest of 20-year-old Alvaro Martinez Jr. Charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, Martinez was apprehended for allegedly selling explicit images of children online. This arrest, as reported by the Nashville Police Department, took place without incident on Old Hickory Boulevard in Antioch.
During the course of the investigation, detectives discovered multiple X accounts believed to quickly be selling pornography. In an interview with authorities, Martinez admitted to owning these social media profiles. A search of his mobile phone further confirmed the presence of explicit material, consistent with the objectionable content seen online.
The gravity of the charges reflects the seriousness with which law enforcement tackles the issue of child exploitation. This case also underscores the role that community tips and vigilance play in assisting police efforts to unearth and address such criminal conduct.
Martinez was taken to jail, where he is presently being held in lieu of a $70,000 bond.
