Investigators from the Metro Nashville Police Department are actively seeking to identify the suspect behind a violent robbery at a Dollar General on Stewart Ferry Pike that left one employee critically wounded. As reported by WSMV, the incident occurred on Saturday night when a masked man entered the store around 9:20 p.m. and shot the female clerk after an armed robbery.
Despite receiving the money, the shooter, described as a black male, approximately 6'2", and with a thin build, callously fired a shot before fleeing the scene that struck the employee in the abdomen, according to FOX 17. First responders administered aid at the site until she could be transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. As the shooter drove off in an older white sedan with the passenger headlight out, her condition was identified to be critical, but stable.
Police noted the suspect's attire as a blue hoodie, gray pants, and black and white sneakers, further highlighted by white Jordan tennis shoes, and stone wash jeans, conveyed in a press release from the MNPD covered by WKRN. The same suspect may also be connected to another Dollar General heist that took place on July 12 at a separate location on Antioch Pike; fortunately, there were no injuries reported in that earlier robbery.
The public has been urged to assist in the capture of this individual; anyone with information related to the suspect or these crimes is encouraged to reach out to Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. As the community awaits justice, the Metro Nashville Police Department continues its investigation, piecing together evidence and hopeful witness accounts that could lead to the apprehension of the suspect, driving the older model white sedan with a missing passenger headlight.
