In the quiet hours of early morning in Needles, California, a routine traffic stop swiftly escalated into an arrest for 45-year-old resident Anthony Garcia, found to harbor an outstanding warrant for felony spousal abuse. According to a press release by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department conducted the traffic stop near G Street and W Broadway Street on July 29, around 1:30 a.m. where Garcia initially attempted to veil his identity under a false name.
However, their short investigation unearthed the truth behind, Garcia's façade and confirmed his identity, exposing a felony warrant for his arrest under P.C. 273.5(A) related to spousal abuse; this led to his prompt arrest and subsequent booking at the Colorado River Station jail. Garcia presently remains in custody without the option of bail, awaiting a court hearing; the identity of the victim in this case is maintained confidential to protect their privacy and safety.
