Chaos briefly reigned in Fremont yesterday afternoon when an electric vehicle barreled through the entrance of a RE/MAX real estate office on Mission Boulevard, according to the Fremont Fire Department. The incident happened just after 4 p.m. at the 39644 Mission Blvd location, where firefighters rushed to the scene. Engine 59 found the vehicle lodged squarely within the office building.
The Fremont Fire Department's post revealed that a Special Operations Task Force was called to the site to assist in dealing with the aftermath of the crash. Thankfully, the driver of the vehicle and those within the RE/MAX ACCORD establishment avoided injury, as did other individuals in the vicinity. The cause of the collision remains a subject for the Fremont PD to unravel.
Once the car was towed, the focus shifted to the damaged office building. Crews were preparing to shore up the premises to ensure its stability and integrity—a step that is about as much about public safety as it is about property conservation.
