
Residents of Northwest D.C. are on alert as police step up their search for a vehicle connected with a recent armed robbery. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, an incident occurred during the pre-dawn hours last Saturday, leaving victims shaken and stripped of their belongings.
The robbery took place in the 3300 block of 16th Street, Northwest. It was there at roughly 3:43 a.m., that two individuals found themselves confronted by armed suspects emerging from a vehicle. The suspects brandished firearms and demanded possessions, and one suspect allegedly escalated the encounter by assaulting a victim. After the suspects secured the victims' property they returned to their vehicle and fled the scene.
The MPD has not released a description of the suspects at this time. They have, however, issued a plea to the Northwest community, asking for any information that may help identify the vehicle used in the crime. Those with knowledge are encouraged to come forward and aid in the investigation and search for justice.
In the wake of this crime, the MPD is reaching out with urgency, reminding citizens to remain observant and report suspicious activities. They are requesting that anyone with information about the vehicle or the robbery, come forward.
