
Early this morning, a three-alarm fire broke out at a bookstore on College Avenue in Oakland. The fire started around 5:25 a.m., and about 60 firefighters quickly responded. They managed to contain the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings. One adjacent building was evacuated, displacing five tenants, but no injuries were reported.
The Oakland Fire Department is continuing its efforts to extinguish the blaze fully.

Due to the fire response to this incident, the surrounding area has faced significant disruptions. Streets have been closed, causing traffic to come to a standstill. Current advisories indicate that College Avenue is closed between Manila Avenue and Lawton Avenue until further notice.
