To smooth the path of travelers during the bustling fall season, San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport (OAK) is rolling out a parking discount program aimed at those using the airport Monday through Thursday. Launching August 1 and set to continue through to the end of October, according to the Port of Oakland, this weekday promotion could save some dollars for passengers who book their parking ahead of time online.
The Port of Oakland Director of Aviation, Craig Simon, highlighted the practicality and convenience saying, as per the Port of Oakland, "Our airport parking spaces are the most convenient for OAK travelers because they are closest to the terminals," and the promotion is designed "to encourage our customers to take advantage of OAK’s affordable parking and the ease of getting in and out of the airport in record time." The discount includes $4 off all reservations in the Daily Parking Lot and a further $2 off per day on weekdays, while in the Economy Parking Lot, travelers will see a $2 per day discount on their weekday reservations, a great option for frequent fliers and those off on quick business trips alike.
The new rates for the Daily Parking Lot start at $22 for 24-hour periods beginning on Friday through Sunday and drop to $20 for the same periods starting Monday through Thursday, the reduction in price providing just one more incentive to select Oak as a travel hub. For those seeking an even more economical option, Economy Parking will now cost $18 for 24-hour periods starting on Friday through Sunday, with a lowered rate of $16 for periods starting on the weekday.
