Acting on tip-offs from locals, OPD's Alcohol Beverage Action Team, in conjunction with the East End Walking Unit, hit a store on the 2500 block of Seminary Avenue on Wednesday, according to the Oakland Police Department.
The operation led to the seizure of an array of substances, including Psilocybin-infused candies, roughly 10 pounds of marijuana, and about 20 pounds of suspected THC products, alongside a stash of illegal tobacco goods. No arrests were made on the spot, but the merchandise haul suggests that this smoke shop was catering to more than just your casual nicotine cravings, possibly bringing to light some darker corners of the local underground market.
The detained employee, a clerk at the establishment, now waits as the details of the case transition to the Alameda County District Attorney's office.
