Residents in Oregon invested in the well-being of the older community and individuals with disabilities have a chance to weigh in on the newly implemented Oregon Project Independence - Medicaid (OPI-M). According to the Oregon Department of Human Services, in partnership with the Oregon Health Authority, a public forum is on the schedule to collect opinions and experiences regarding how OPI-M has been fulfilling its mission since its inception earlier this year.
Launching under the ODHS Office of Aging and People with Disabilities this year, OPI-M was birthed by an 1115 Demonstration Waiver, which the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved on February 13, and demands a Post-Award Public Forum for feedback, in keeping with federal regulations, this type of engagement is not only necessary but provides a transparent platform for Oregonians to voice concerns or approval about the rollout of the program that's slated to run until January 31, 2029, as per the Oregon Department of Human Services.
The date and venue for the public forum remain to be announced, but interested parties are encouraged to stay informed through ODHS updates.
