
Early Monday morning, tragedy struck on I-285 westbound near Chamblee Dunwoody Rd. when a catastrophic multi-vehicle crash claimed the life of one driver and injured several others. According to Dunwoody Police Department, the incident occurred at around 4:43 a.m. and involved six vehicles.
The chaos ensued when three vehicles collided, subsequently triggering a secondary crash that led to a chain reaction involving multiple other vehicles. Amidst the shattered glass and twisted metal, one of the drivers from the initial collision, who was standing outside their car, was struck by other vehicles and succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene. Five other individuals were transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Dunwoody officers, reporting to the grisly scene, have opened an investigation to untangle the events leading up to the accident. The authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could shed light on this highway tragedy.
