Action News 5 reports that at around 6:15 a.m., Memphis Police responded to the scene where a driver had struck a pole. This incident resulted in critical injuries to two men, who were swiftly taken to the hospital.
Unfortunately, one of the individuals succumbed to his injuries after their arrival at the hospital. The seriousness of the crash caused a significant disruption, with Memphis Police having to quickly shut down all northbound and southbound lanes roughly 200 yards in either direction from the site. Motorists have been advised to eventually seek alternative routes, a traffic alert issued by the department underscores the severity of the accident.
