
Over the weekend, a lightning strike in Oviedo resulted in an attic fire, according to the Seminole County Fire Department. The incident, which occurred at a residence on Kimberwicke Circle, drew a swift response from firefighters on Saturday evening. As reported by WFTV, the bolt struck a dryer vent, which caused a "small smoldering fire" in the home's attic space.
Responding units were to quickly extinguish the fire, preventing further damage to the property. The Seminole County Fire Department also confirmed that the incident, fortunately, did not result in any injuries. Visual documentation of the event was shared by firefighters on social media, showcasing the affected home and the department's response efforts. WESH shared that the blaze commenced around 5 p.m. and was contained shortly thereafter.
The exact amount of damage caused by the attic fire has not been disclosed, but authorities have stressed that the most critical outcome is the lack of any personal injuries as a result of the fire.
