The police released an image of a person of interest connected to the altercation that took place behind The Greens at Braelinn apartments, as FOX 5 Atlanta reported. The unidentified assailant, who is believed to have tried to steal the victim's fanny pack, fled into the nearby wooded area after the woman fought back.
"She turned around and gave him more than he was expecting to have and was even able to remove the mask he was using to conceal his identity with," Lt. Chris Hyatt explained in a statement to the media. Lt. Hyatt also communicated that they are asking for anyone with information to step forward to aid in identifying the individual. The incident has impacted locals like Anthanaysha Thompson, who now accompanies her sister on morning walks to ensure their safety, according to a interview with FOX 5 Atlanta.
