A Clackamas County Grand Jury has officially indicted 33-year-old Portland resident Eliazar Martinez-Rodriguez on a charge of Murder in the Second Degree, this stems from the violent death of Jefferson Smith Cates who was 30, also of Portland, on June 22, as reported by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office. According to the official press release, detectives considered Martinez-Rodriguez a person of interest soon after the incident and apprehended him the day following the homicide on an unrelated federal parole violation warrant.
