A tragic incident unfolded in Quartz Hill on Sunday night, leaving one woman dead and another hospitalized. According to KTLA, both victims were found unconscious around the 42900 block of 59th Street shortly before 8:30 p.m.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the women were immediately taken to a local hospital, where one of them was pronounced dead, as per KTLA. The other was treated and subsequently released. Authorities have detained a man who was captured leaving the scene and believe he was the lone assailant responsible for the attack. The LASD Homicide Bureau is currently leading an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fight that precipitated the assault.
As detailed by the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Dept Information Bureau, the incident occurred on July 14, at around 8:24 p.m. Homicide investigators discovered it was a head injury that led to the demise of one of the female victims. The identity of the suspect, now arrested for homicide and assault, remains undisclosed as the investigation continues.
